I'd love to know what you think of BBC'verse John Watson.

I love how incredibly steadfast he is. He decided to be Sherlock Holmes's friend and so he stands by him, (mostly) no matter what. He takes Sherlock's drama and nonsense and rolls with it. Drugged tea? Yeah, it's annoying and he'll have a small fit about it, but it's also the sort of thing Sherlock does so eh, no changing it, right?

I love that about him. If ever there was a rock to lean on, it's John Watson.

(I also love how Sherlock's slowly realising how much he depends on that, but that's a whole bunch of meta I'm not about to go into.)

Thoughts on Joan Watson (Elementary)

I love how she's both tactful and brutally honest. If you're being an insensitive dick, she'll tell you. If she's going to return your bullshit with some of her own, she'll tell you. If you're crossing her lines, she'll tell you. But she'll probably do all of that in private because even assholes are allowed to keep their dignity if she likes them.

She'll also call you out on your casual sexism, but she might do it quietly if she's not in the mood for that particular argument right now.

Still, Joan Watson can be depended upon to call it as she sees it, even if it smarts. That's an incredibly valuable thing to have in a friend.

Really enjoyed reading the two previous, so - Abbie Mills?

ABBIE OMG LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT ABBIE.

Abbie handles anything life throws at her, be it her former boyfriend, a guy from the 1700s, not getting the job she wants, a headless guy on a creepy horse (unless you've read Discworld, then that horse is just Binky), her past screw-up with her sister, thwarting the Apocalypse, her undead former colleague, psychic connections, the ghost of her great-great-whatever grandma... Abbie might roll her eyes or boggle or voice her significant skepticism for a minute or two, but then she'll get shit done.

I particularly love her unimpressed you've-got-to-be-kidding-me-no-of-course-you're-not-how-is-this-my-life face. That face is just beautiful. ♥

(And the "awful intercourse" discussion. I was a happy person that day.)

EEE, ABBIE! ♥

It makes me grin so much to know you love her and all of the things you said about her were such true and amazing things. She has had a pretty rough life, she's had some truly terrible things happen to her, but she's still here - and she's still Abbie Mills, come hell or high water. (Hell, of course, being the far more likely option in her world.) I love how brave and generous she is - I admire her, which is a fairly rare trait in a fictional character I love. Like, I actually want to spend time with her and think I would learn a lot about living life awesomely from being around Abbie.

She's one of my favourite characters on TV right now. Hell, she's one of my favourite characters on TV ever. Though you'd probably learn how to die very quickly from being around Abbie. ;)

And despite all the awesome, she still has flaws, which of course makes me love her even more.
