Two suspects are tried for the same murder in separate, simultaneous court proceedings, with the DA in each case rushing for a conviction.

Remember the days when the show didn't use flashbacks? Yeah, those were the days.

I need a Woo-Hoo, I mean, a Yoo-Hoo. Shifty eyes.

Just so long as the present case gets proper screen time and isn't shafted because they were going into great detail on something they could have explained in a 2-minute speech...

Right. It's either that or exposition, but these days, exposition isn't as sexy as it used to be. At least, it isn't a case of Plot B overshadowing Plot A, not yet, anyway.

So far, so good in regards to giving this case time. But I'm still waiting for that big conspiracy to show up, dudes.

In the meantime, this double trial is satisfyingly dramatic and/or dizzying.

It's been a long while since we had a double trial at once. Last I recall was... Orbach's last regular Mothership episode, I think. As I said, it's been a while.

At least, the episode is more prosecutor-centric than usual. About time.

She was still alive at the end of the episode, which is always a plus.

And she got to see her son, again, and not get killed in front of him. After last episode, I almost expected it.

That was the conspiracy? Manipulating witnesses? That's tame by SVU standards.

Yeah, they're not good at that, quite frankly. Even the season premiere with the epic conspiracy wasn't as awesome as it could have been. Oh, well.

At least, I can think of Mothership's Refuge -- now that was an awesome conspiracy.
