...If you don't want to listen to people telling you to be more humane, you might want to keep your PCD out of the lab from now on.

[Apologies. Hitsugaya Toushirou doesn't do them.]

You know how these things are. Recording everything unnecessary.

Ah.

[Well, cool. He's certainly not complaining.]

[Notes the viewing, anyway.]

See anything familiar, Alphonse?

[Quietly. There's a fire in his eyes, though -- he was never as good as Yuca.]

Yes, sir.

[A feint of politeness.]

And what do you think of it?

[Really, Kurotsuchi, is such a thing necessary.]

Put it out of its misery.

[Quietly.]

[Negi has... never seen anything like this. He's seen Yuca come home covered in bruises, he's seen what's been brought home for dinner, but never has he seen an animal being outright tortured.

His stomach makes a little flip, and he feels sick, but he says nothing.]

[Notices him - and while it doesn't exactly provoke a startle, there's a small spasm, and the sound of a knife being dragged across metal.

Before he stops and looks up at him.]

What is it?

['What are you doing?' would be a stupid question.]
