[When the PCD is switched on, the voice from it is sharp, the words are brief. As though it's a struggle to force out even that much control.]

You all know what this place does. It's an event, nothing else.

[He's leaning up against the doorframe.]

Reminding them never helps, Mayuri.

[Puts the device down before he turns to look at him.]

I know.

[Not that he cares about reminding anyone but himself.]

[Yuca knows it. He moves to take a step forward, but hesitates.]

May I come in?

[Nods slightly after a pause, a little surprised that Yuca asked, but welcoming the small courtesy.

He was still disoriented- having a difficult time not regarding even the room with suspicion. He was angry, he was uneasy, and he couldn't trust his own mind- nothing that was ever a good combination. The tension was probably clear, and the only way he was keeping himself from destroying things was by remaining almost rigidly still.]

Wouldn't have expected you to be the voice of reason. [The sarcasm is obvious here though, because Mayuri is one of the most down to earth person she knows here.]

But logic doesn't get along well with madness, you know. [And, somehow, they're all crazy this week. More than usual.]

I'm always reasonable.

[Response almost as a reflex. But after some time, he's still not- entirely stable, but he never really is. He's not inches from breaking a few tables and torturing everything he comes across, though.]

If they suffer because they can't pay attention, it's their own fault.

You always sound so at least. [But even in his voice, she can tell something's off.]

It sure is. Or maybe they just have to suffer anyway. [Raven's voice is still her usual dry emotionless one, but there's a strange edge of bitterness to it.]

And I'm always right.

[He's not so good, though, at picking up on the details of other peoples' emotions.] Existing is suffering, haven't you learned that? Find something interesting to pass the time with.

The beauty of it, doctor, is that as sure as we can be, we can never know.

[Way to feed his paranoia, man.]

I know.

No, you don't. Just like atheists and religious men congratulate themselves on their logical certainties that are so uncertain.

It's nothing like that. I know absolutely nothing is certain. But it's close enough.

[ Nemu, more or less hasn't stated a word about the asylum she supposedly goes to in the night but she can't help but to curiously wonder about Mayuri's own conditions. Of course, this being Nemu, she won't bother to bring it up, but, rather, she appears to be focusing on a resting sheep in the lab. She isn't sure if the animals are affected or not and, given the Animus's odd history, it's certainly a valid idea to test.

She'll just try to silently take up space, like you wish. ]

[Sometimes, staying quiet and only taking up a small amount of space is the best thing to do- as much as there's ever a 'best' thing to do.

Whether it's true now is hard to tell. Even if he's not now as unstable as he was when he'd just woken up, he was facing a week of not sleeping at all, and he was still more on edge than usual.

Inquiring- or even considering- Nemu's condition didn't occur to him. She existed, that was a fault enough.]

What are you doing, Nemu?

[ She knows this, and exemplifies this better than anyone.

She worries over his current state, but she knows he's a prideful man and would have stated if he wasn't all right. Of course, she could make energy pills to hype him constantly instead of crashing.

When Mayuri asks her question she turns to him, as serious as ever. ]

I am analyzing the sheep while they are resting to see if they're being affected. [ The machine doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary as Nemu watches the machine drone on and on and on..... ]

Sheep. You're wasting time on sheep? Do you think I care whether sheep dream?

[Though his steps towards her are measured enough, once he reaches her, he loses that bit of control, striking her hard across the face.]
