The venue for the NYPD/DA's Office Annual Halloween Party is decorated as festively as you can get on a small budget. There's orange and black crepe paper along with various other decorations - hanging paper skeletons, witch hat centerpieces, etc. There are also bowls of snacks and candy, along with a fountain of punch that will inevitably be

Millie, dressed as a very round, pregnant nun, headed into the party with Isabel, who was dressed as a pirate, brandishing her sword as they went in.

"Be careful," Millie said.
"Arrrrr!" Isabel waved the sword at her mother.
Millie rolled her eyes.
"Mami, you're a penguin," Isabel grinned at her. "Pinguenita," she giggled.
"Might as well be," Millie muttered.

Mike, meanwhile, was dressed as Batman (as usual) and was outside with Munch (who came dressed as Frankenstein), not getting into any trouble at all. (By which we mean, 'totally hiding in the bushes throwing water balloons at unsuspecting co-workers'...if you choose to have your character get splashed, they will hear snickering and rustling of leaves...if they try to catch the doers...they may get even more soaked...)

Aidan comes up behind Isa, dressed as a white tiger, and roars at her.

His father, dressed as a devil (black suit, red tie, and devil horns) smirks a good distance away.

Isabel let out a shriek, then turned on Aidan with her sword. "Ayyyy! I'm gonna get you!"

Millie watched the scene, then glanced over at Peluso. "Oh, look, Peluso came as a lawyer."

Liv shows up as Catwoman (with these boots ), bouncy and happier than she's been in a while, completely in the spirit of the holiday.

From behind her, there was a wolf whistle. Brian Cassidy, dressed as a construction worker, didn't bother hiding the fact that he was briefly checking her out.

OOC: See, his family works in construction so he thought 'quick, easy costume, there is no way they can make fun of me for costume homosexuality AT ALL...' Oh, Cassidy...

Rolling her eyes, Liv turns around and sees (not so surprisingly) Cassidy standing behind her. Unable to help herself, she smiles.

"Where's the rest of them?" she asked him.

"You look good," he said. Then he looked confused for a moment. "Rest of who?"

Turning up fashionably late, Alex (minus the hat) and David stroll in with a little spider toddling inbetween them.

OOC: That doesn't mean hours late, that means just not when it starts straight away. Like half an hour after Millie turned up -- which is nothing -- so you can tag me back.

"Eames," a dry voice said with amusement. It was Ross, by the punchbowl.

Alex stepped to the punchbowl, with Ellie and David, and smirked at Ross. "Captain," she chuckled, looking at his costume.

Ross was dressed as a vampire. "What're you supposed to be?" he asked curiously. It was clear what Ellie and David were, but he wasn't quite sure about Alex.

Megan arrived wearing her costume, minus the wig. She'd tried to wear it, but it had been the most irritating thing in the world in the car, so... Mrs. Lovett would have short, red hair tonight.

"Trick or treat!" Isabel ran up to Megan excitedly, holding out her sword with one hand and her candy bucket in the other.

"Oooh, aren't you scary?" Megan said, stooping down. She opened the bag she'd brought with her and offered a pair of individually wrapped tiny cupcakes. She put them in Isa's bucket. "There you go."

"Yes, I am scary," Isabel said matter-of-factly. When the cupcakes were deposited into her bucket, her eyes lit up. "Oooh."

"What do you say?" Millie asked, coming up from behind.

"Smell my feet!" Isabel yelled.
"That's only if you don't get a treat," Millie smirked.
Isabel giggled. "Thank you!"

A homicide cop (Kevin Bernard), a bobby-soxer (Val Lanier), and a crash test dummy (Val's date) are talking.

"Kevin and I went to the academy together," Val explained to her date, Lu Paahoa, as Bernard sized him up. She was starting to regret bringing him. They'd only known each other for about two months and went on their first date last week, but he'd invited her to the party at his work so she'd felt obliged to do the same.

"So what do you do?" Kevin asked Lu, Val could feel the awkwardness coming. Part of her wanted to divert the costume and the scanned the party for some inspiration, but spotted Brian Cassidy.

"I teach ballet," Lu answered and Kevin simply nodded. Val wished that someone would spike the punch already.

After leaving behind Michael (dressed as a priest) talking to Jack McCoy (who was dressed as Cutter, with an oversized fake BlackBerry and a baseball bat), Connie wandered over to the two cops and Val's guest.

"Hey, guys," she smiled. She was dressed as Teresa, Barbie's Latina friend.

"Looking good, Connie," Bernard told her with a sly smile, glad to have an interruption.

"Hi," Val smiled gratefully at Connie and started the introductions, "Connie this is Lu Paahoa and Lu this is Connie Rubiroas, she's a prosecutor,"

Connie smirked. "Bernard...what a creative costume. Let me guess - you're supposed to be Lupo?"

When Val made the introductions, she smiled politely at Lu. "Nice to meet you."
