I'm watching her unravel. The woman who used to be my rock and my caretaker, who taught me to cut with a knife and to wash my hair. She is 94 now, and will be 95 in a few weeks, but instead of teaching me lessons these days, we suffer through memory loops ( Read more... )

Oh this is hard. We've dealt with dementia in our family too. My dad has it now, but it's early stages still. But it's hard whenever it happens. I'm sorry you're going through this, but it's beautiful that you're taking such good, loving care of her, too.

This is so so and so beautiful at the same time. This must be so difficult for you, but what you've given your grandparents is priceless and so loving.
