Liz, you are crazy. I thought you'd spend at least one day in Chicago - I didn't realize this was a drive-there-and-back-in-one-day trip. I hope you got some Steak n Shake on the way home at least. Crazy.
Ummmm, cast recording......ummmmm, I don't know. Either Sunday in the Park With George, Passion - OLC, Light in the Piazza, or Assassins - OC with the revival cast music tracks burned on the end.
i CANNOT WAIT FOR THE MOVIE. I've never listened to the recording of rent, because people have made SUCH a fuss over it that I want to experience it for the first time in context. (Note: This doesn't not apply to Wicked since Wicked does not require much deep acting) I like Les Mis, but I feel like I hear "on my own" performed by someone else EVERY DAY. Good song, but so overdone since Joey sang it on Dawson's Creek hahahaha
Oh, darling, it was overdone a long time before Dawson's Creek came around. And I hate that song - it's beautiful and touching as Fantine's death song, and then it comes back as Eponine's torch song? That don't make no sense. Although it's beautiful and touching again when Valjean reprises it as he's dying.
But I could write a book on why Les Miz is an inferior musical. And you've heard most of it, probably.
That Rent movie looks awful. Perfectly suited to the material, I'd say. (Rent requires about as much deep acting as Wicked does.)

I really need to get Piazza soon. But they haven't had it at any of the record stores I've been in lately!
