Ginger wasn't great at being on time, it was eight-twenty, she'd be late for her own funeral if it was possible. She didn't really have any reason apart from picking out which shoes to wear and maybe having a few drinks before she left. And neither did she offer one as she slid into the booth where Keppler was sitting.
"Heya" She smiled, leaning in and kissing the air next to his cheek. "You haven't been waiting long have you?"
"Nope. I'm still feeling the place out," he said, shaking his head and loosening the knot in his tie. He'd come straight from work, and so it was still the whole suit and tie affair. Hopefully he didn't look too stuck up.
But this wasn't about him.
"You sounded like you could use a friend," he demurred. "You wanna get a drink, talk about it?"
There wasn't a man in Ginger's life that didn't live in a suit and tie, well apart from Lester, but he was a different story. And her ostentatious mink coat over her leather pants, probably couldn't look any more stuck up. But it was the seventies for her, PETA didn't even exist.
She sighed as he reminded her. "Yeah, talking might actually help me get my head round all this. Whisky, on the rocks." She leant back in her seat and lit a cigarette.
Keppler nodded and signaled for a waitress, ordering her a whisky and himself a scotch. While they were waiting for the drinks, he leaned back in his chair and looked over at her, brow furrowing.
