From today's USA TODAY article on the Nielsens:

•Law orderly. The two-hour 18th-season premiere of NBC's Law & Order Wednesday arrested 13.5 million viewers, its best numbers since May 2006, the show's last airing on that night before being banished to Fridays.

anyone know if you can see that episode online anywhere? or dvr flaked out and didn't record it .. /sigh

I found only clips of the "Law & Order" episodes, not full episodes. Dick Wolf has enough clout to keep them from appearing online, due to the strike. But it's more likely that the episodes are set to be rerun on Saturday nights, and so are not available online.
