Damian says he is still in love with me and wants me back.

I'm pissed off because of everything and how he treated me. If he had thought about it properly and not just reacted we would still be together now.

I also feel sorry for him...he must feel bad for everything, and must be really mad with himself.

I think you're right to want to explore other possibilities. when someone you love treats you not so great like Damian did it definitely takes the shine off what you have. It also makes you realise that when you look around there are other people who you're compatitible with. I don't think it makes you love him any less to want to explore that, especially since it was his idea to break up in the first place. If it's meant to be it will still be at some point.
