"If the Pope dies do they cancel our wedding?"

That thought makes her even more nervous. "They can't. We paid them already. If they do, I'll kill someone." She pauses. "Someone else."

He offers her a glass.

"If you hadn't got us arrested we'd be married now, Li."

She takes the glass from him gratefully.

"If I hadn't gotten us arrested?" she asks, raising an eyebrow. "I wasn't the one who couldn't wait until we got into the airport bathroom."
