Have you ever thought about re-recording that message?

[Get a hold of yourself, Phoenix. She's not going anywhere, so you're going to have to get used to the sound of her voice. Relax and enjoy it. After all seeing her again is the only really good thing that this place has done for you since you got here.]

[Much more carefully, and with considerably less abject horror.]

I tried once, but I ended up hitting the speed-dial for the pizza place instead. The guy on the other end spent five minutes guilt-tripping me into buying a meat feast for wasting his time.

[ring ring!]

[ooc: I meant to do this forever ago but I'm a moron and forgot! Basically Ro was asking Edgeworth if he wanted to be on the News show coming up about newcomers and stuff, asking if he wanted to talk about the newcomer fund. He reccomended Phoenix instead, so she's gonna be asking him about it!]

Hi! Uh, this is Rochelle from Eyewitness news. This is probably gonna seem all-of-a-sudden, but have you heard of thew newcomer show coming up on the newsfeed? Or something?

I heard about it, yeah. Is something the matter?

[They can't need a criminal attorney, right?]

Um... Hello?

My name's Yako Katsuragi. [ Pause. ] I just arrived in the city the other day; someone told me that I should ask you about the Newcomer Fund if I was, um, short on cash. [ Which she very, very much is. ]

How does this work?

Hey there, you're through to the right place. What do you need, exactly? Money for food and clothes and things?

Yes, that's right! I'm hoping to get a job soon, but I'll need something to cover my expenses until then...

Well that's what the fund's there for. I'll just put your name down in the records and send you enough to get along with--it should cover everything, including a nice outfit to go to job interviews in. What are you hoping to work as?

I just realized... you probably were wondering about the loss of the game we were playing. Don't worry. I already collected from that little girl who interrupted us.

So no need to be concerned about what it is that I would take.

Take care, my dear Phoenix.

[Oh man, he wants to just sink into the ground.]

W-Wright here. You left a message on my answering machine.

Hey, Mr. Wright! I've been thinking about it, and I think I might end up trying to get a scholarship at one of the colleges instead of trying out for the force-- do you know how I could go about applying for one?

Um, I also got you something to thank you for all the help you've given me so far! Where should I drop it off?

[Funny how that (1 message) flashing on his answer machine gives him a cold chill now. He's relieved to hear a kinder voice.]

Well the best way is probably to go in and talk to your potential professors yourself to see what's best for you. What would you be studying? Some of the schools are more specialised than others.

Well, I never really got any formal training for being a detective, so I was thinking something like criminology or psychology. I'm not sure which of the colleges would be better for that sort of thing... [ And, well, there's the affiliation thing to worry about. ]

Well Hawthorne is definitely the best for law related stuff. Most of AGI's lawyers come from there. It's not exactly Ivy League but for this city it's the best you're going to get in the city. I don't think you have to be affiliated to attend, but that'd be something to look into.
