I found a nanny! She is a junior at CSU in the Human Development and Early Childhood teaching program. Her schedule is just about perfect for my needs. And she seems like a sweet, kind person. Rachel took to her pretty quickly. I am so glad to be done! Thanks to all of you for your comments and suggestions. I was a little sad to turn down ( Read more... )

Wonderful news! Does Rachel seem to like her?

Mmmm, plum jam. Mmmm, peach french toast. Your entire post made me hungry!

I may send you some jam as a housewarming present!!!

Rachel does seem to like her. She responded to her questions (usually she is just silent when a new person asks her a direct question) and laughed and giggled at her. All good.

A very good sign that Rachel was so chatty with the new nanny.

I certainly wouldn't refuse a shipment of plum jam!

Your mom's B&B sounds great (at least meal-wise). We love B&Bs, so now we'll have to fit in a visit to Colo. to try out your mom's place! I feel huge too, but I'm 30 weeks... Can't believe this is all happening so quickly this time around!

It does seem to be flying by! You are so close. Especially if this baby is as impatient to meet you as E!

You are always welcome for a visit. My mom's place is in a lovely canyon with a river running in front. You can sit on the porch and see big horn sheep on the cliffs across the road. (Maybe we could talk Melissa, Michael and the kids into coming back to CO too!)

Have fun in Toronto. I love that city.

PS--Great news about the nanny search! I know you liked the Afghani woman, but I'm sure she'll find another job :-)

What a relief to have found someone who appears to be a good fit for your family. And your mom's B&B sounds great. R is not entirely on the B&B bandwagon. We did stay in one in Kauai on our honeymoon, kind of. Basically it was a small detached rental managed by a B&B. But I'm hoping to convert him. And he (well we both do, but R slightly more than I) love outdoorsy/nature stuff, so maybe we will be able to check out your mom's place some time.

I am so impressed with your jam-making project. My mom made strawberry jam once or twice when I was a kid. It's a lot of work.

My mom's place is cozy and comfy (but certainly not 5 star). It is a pretty mountain house with beautiful views. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to have you! September and early October are nice here. The summer crowds are gone but RMNP is gorgeous (Aspen turning) and the elk are bugling for mates.

The jam is made! It is alot of work but I do enjoy it. I think it turned out pretty well--we had some on biscuits this morning! I haven't tried strawberry yet. hmmm.....
