I've been in a weird transition place with regard to faith for a few years now. It's hard to write it all out (though I need to suck it up and do that at some point, because it's going to matter as it gets more fuzzy) because it's so critical for the words to be JUST RIGHT. I think many Christians struggle with the Scripture-vs.-life issue. Do I want a church that tackles the Bible from the pulpit, or the social justice issues all around me? Why do I have to choose? I've attended a community church with strong theology (at least until the preacher went crazy) but no social justice issues, no connection with the news or the real world--and I grew up in a Unitarian Universalist church with exactly the opposite problem, lots of real life and not enough God (for me
