CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Yurika Dojima, Witch Hunter Robin
In-Game Name: Lt. Yurika Dojima
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Position & Ship:
Victoria II, Radio Ops,
Appearance: Doujima is short and petite, not thin so much as small all
around. Her hair is fluffy and blond and cut into layers, the longest
several inches past her shoulders and the shortest sweeping across her
forehead as chunky bangs. Neatly groomed eyebrows arch over wide blue
eyes. Her fingers are long and her nails are always neatly kept.
She takes a lot of care with her appearance, but not always in ways
conducive to staying in uniform, having a deep love of accessories and
heeled shoes. When in uniform, she tends to sneak in a few non
regulation touches; painted nails, incorrect colored socks, a
bracelet, or earrings just a hair larger than the acceptable studs.
Her communicator is covered in charms and stickers. She always wears a
watch with a pink band, given to her by a crew mate on an earlier
ship.
When out of uniform Yurika always dresses smartly, in fashionable
slacks and tailored tops, dresses and skirts, as would be expected for
a retired admiral's daughter. Generally she pairs these with heels and
a matching bag, though she has also been known to wear flat slippers.
Yukira loves to collect shoes and is always disappointed with how few
she can take with her on a given ship. Her favorite article of
clothing is a powder blue coat.
Personality: On the surface Doujima strikes everyone she meets as
shallow, spoiled and lazy. She works hard to propagate this image. She
sees it as a kind of game, and she thrives on the attention she gets
when she comes to her shift late or gets caught painting her nails on
the job. Yurika enjoys the excitement of pushing things as far as she
can. Besides, if people see her as unreliable and lazy, she thinks
that it will get her out of a lot of unpleasant busywork she would
otherwise have to be doing.
But it is mostly a facade. In actuality, if she grows attached to a
person or cause, or it interests her, Yurika is capable of great
amounts of energy, caring and selflessness. Former crew mates who had
reason to work closely with her were often the only ones to see this
side of Yurika. She does not like to see those she knows hurt or
suffering.
If you told many of her superiors she was capable of caring, giving or
loyalty they would laugh in your face. This is possibly because
Doujima seldom found any of them worthy to see this side of her
nature.
Generally Yukira is friendly and talkative to those around her, unless
they are "giving her a hard time" about work. Even then she tends to
joke a good deal. She has a great deal of wit, and some people see her
as a gossip. Those who have ever had a secret of any importance,
however, have always found it safe with her.
Mostly.
Abilities/Weapons:Through some miracle Doujima came through training
and learned all of her basic naval skills. She can tie knots, shoot a
gun passably accurately and fold sheets into hospital corners.
Also, though she tries to hide this, she is actually quite good at
problem solving and thinking on her feet in a crisis.
Given family history, all of Doujima's relatives, and some of her
superiors, think that she has a latent magical skill that she is not
displaying due to stubbornness or laziness.
She's also really good at keeping a secret.
How well can your character hack?: hard. She's been practicing, and she is a spy
Weaknesses: Whether it's an act or not, she behaves as if
she is lazy and spoiled. Above this, though she is not a bad shot
and good at thinking on her feet she has no special skills that are
terribly useful in combat.
History: Yurika is the younger of Grand Admiral Nobu Doujima's two
children. As a girl, the baby of the family, and an attractive child
she was spoilt in her early years. At a young age she was smart
enough to never have fits or arguments in her parents' presence. Her
parents believed she was a perfect angel, and did not realize the
problem, despite notes from teachers and babysitters who refused to
set foot in the house, until she grew from a dimpled child into a
defiant preteen.
Suddenly the couple was faced with the fact that they had raised a
brat. They did as best they could, within the confines of their busy
schedules to correct the problem through sending her to various reform
schools. Yukira, however, was a very stubborn girl and saw it all as a
kind of game. She refused to be reformed.
When a long string of civilian schools failed to straighten his
daughter, Admiral Doujima sent his daughter to the military academy
her brother had attended and Yurika, tired of constant badgering,
learned to pretend to be a model citizen.
Her miraculous turnaround earned her high marks in her final years,
and a military appointment, which her father, now retired, insisted
she take.
Disgusted Yurika realized that her model citizenship had earned her
more years of work, and that the longer she continued it, the longer
she would be expected to shine. Her philosophy turned around entirely
and she began to slack off and skirt regulations, but she couldn't
seem to get herself discharged, only transferred to more and more
tightly run ships.
Just when she was beginning to think the situation was hopeless,
Doujima found something to occupy her mind other than how to get
fired.
She found herself transfered to a ship called The Solomon, a ship with
dubious rumors about it. Unbeknownst to the crew, Dojima was
reporting back to headquarters. Before much could come of her spying,
however, the Solomon lost an air battle and was damaged beyond repair
and most of the crew sustained injuries. Dojima came back from
medical leave to find herself assigned to the Victoria II...
SAMPLES-
First Person (journal): Here is my theory, happy people do better work.
The things that make me happy include, among other things, sleeping
in. Interfering with my happiness is kind of like interfering with
my work, therefore, when a certain commanding officer, who will remain
nameless entered my shared sleeping quarters this morning, awakened me
to get ready for my shift (Which I was only a few minutes late for,
and anyway it overlapped with two other peoples for a whole hour.) the
officer in question was in fact causing my efficiency to go down.
Food for thought.
