Questions and SOP, blah blah blah

I first became interested in Linguistics while working the graveyard shift at a waitressing job at a diner in Buffalo, NY.  Clever patrons would canvass me-“you’re not from around here, are you?” It’s true, I moved to the Great University from Upstate New York.  “I can tell,” they would inevitably remark. “You have an accent.”  Prior to settling in ( Read more... )

Hey there darling!!!! It's been quite a while since we've last seen each other or even talked. About your problem, most grad schools say that they would like to have a hard copy of the GRE scores, but they understand if you can't get it to them if you took them later on in the semester. I'm pretty much in the same boat you are. I took the test in late November and there's no way that I'm going to get a copy of my scores to send out, nevermind the university getting their copy before apps are due. I wish you could've taken my verbal and I could've taken your math. Our scores woould've been so much better if that were the case.

Now I should probably end this before I get rambling on this silly thing any longer. You should give me a call so we could possibly meet up before I go home for break? Tall order, I know, but I figure let's make an attempt at it if only just to amuse ourselves at the thought that we have times that corrdinate.

Later darling!

sorry to be a nitpicker but I have a small change I think you should make to this. At the very beginning "I first became interested in Linguistics while working the graveyard shift at a waitressing job at a diner in Buffalo, NY" should say while working as a waitress at a diner to avoid the double "at a" thing that seems awkward to me. You don't have to change it though, I can't MAKE you. But I can talk to the big guy in the sky about it. If you go to chicago we will be closer and maybe hang out sometime. It's still a 10 hour drive but I think it could be done. I hear the U of Minnesota is cool though, just a thought.
