I've had CFS for a little while now. CFS is a pretty poorly understood disease and I tend to get the same questions being asked over and over. This entry should hopefully get everyone on my LJ, at least, up to date with my situation, so at least any questions I get will be new ones ( Read more... )

You are not alone.

I quit my job last April effectively due to multiple chemical sensitivity. Sometimes I'm healthy, sometimes, like the past two days, I haven't left the house and have been mostly sleeping. Pretty much the same symptoms as CFS and with no support. Prior to quitting my job I'd seen the medical officer at work and they pretty much treated me like I was imagining things. I know how upsetting it is.

Glad to hear you can finally put a name to all this and that you're managing better. Still, some pretty bad news there :( (apart from the happy happy opiates, of course). Sending internet hugs and black forest cake. Would like to catch up with you at some point, only when you're feeling up to it, of course. Maybe Alex and I could drop by some time?

Would love you and Alex to drop by- the hardest part of seeing people regularly is getting out of the house, and I'm feeling like a hermit!
If you give me enough warning and I have sufficient energy I could even cook lunch or dinner- been learning Mexican and Italian cooking with my free time.

My mother ended up with CF at a bad time - she was trying to put up with me and my brothers growing up, hence i have much sympathy for you.

Cooking is good. It serves as a sink for my control freak tendencies and provides delicious meals, all of which can be done from home (So long as you don't run out of food).
