Send love! We have lots of tangible things already. Maybe some patience, too...
You know, I was born 8 days late, and David was two weeks late, so originally I wasn't expecting our kiddo to arrive early, but our doctor and doula both checked my body's progress, and were expecting me to deliver last week, so we were all excited!
But it must be like sleeping through your alarm...Come on Mom, just five more minutes...
You'll get there. I promise. Your baby will be born when your baby is ready to be born.
That being said, I hate due dates. I also hate that it's such a "hurry up...and wait" game.
I think the end of pregnancy is particularly tricky/hard/annoying because otherwise we wouldn't be ready to go through childbirth and we'd want to stay pregnant forever.
I actually posted this entry to my pregnancy/baby blog about 1.5 hours before I went into labor (at 41 weeks).
Yeah, I had the non-stress test on Tuesday, which I was annoyed about, because my doula said I should eat beforehand, but I had no idea they were going to do it (nor did my husband, so I know it wasn't a language barrier thing).
Fortunately, Mushu was moving enough (though not nearly as much as usual), so the nurses said he was fine, not stressed at all, just not ready to make an appearance, yet. I only had one contraction during the 20-minute test.
Yesterday morning I had all kinds of digestive issues, so I thought I was going to have some sort of more active labor shortly thereafter. But apparently I just had indigestion. Oy vey,
I definitely do NOT want to stay pregnant forever! I had a chat with Mushu last night, about all the good things that we have outside, trees and cake and biking and water skiing and sunshine...so hopefully he will think about that and decide it will be more fun out here than in there.
