LOVE that title. Gave me goosebumps when I first heard it. And this finale delivers. Oh boy, does it deliver.
"He's the heir to the throne." Repeat after me - "He's The Heir To The Throne."
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee be still my heart.
That scene was right up there with last season's reveal of Jon's parentage.
And that scene with Dany? I didn't ship them before but I do now. Big time! Lol, coming from SPN fandom, the ick factor is somewhat muted. And hey, they're Targaryens! I'm a bit worried about Jon though. I believe Dany would take it in her stride but Jon I'm not quite sure, having been raised as a Stark by the very honourable Eddard Stark himself ....
Anyways, I have one year to enjoy them before whatever happens in season 8, happens.
I wonder who played Rhaegar. He looked a lot like the actor who played Viserys. Anyway, looking at him and remembering Viserys, no wonder Jon is skinny. He's just not tall like Rhaegar and Viserys. Hmmm, picturing Rhaegar in my head before, it never occurred to me that he'd look like Viserys. A bit of a reality check there.
I don't like Cersei and I never will. But I have to admit that I admire her. That's one strong woman there. Lena Heady is absolutely TERRIFIC!
I really hope there's nothing sinister with regard to Tyrion looking apprehensively at Jon going to Dany's room. My first thought was that Tyrion was worried about them political-wise but reading the internet's theories has me worried. But Peter Dinklage said that there was no jealousy of the Jorah-kind there, so.
I've seen the twist with Littlefinger coming two episodes back. Arya is smart and cunning and she was well-taught by the Faceless Man so in my mind there was just no way Littlefinger would be able to do what he wanted to do. I wasn't sure of course but I'm glad that I'm right. And of course there's Bran. He doesn't say much but he knew!
But not everything apparently. He didn't know that Rhaegar had married Lyanna and that Jon wasn't a bastard. I'm actually glad that Bran doesn't know everything. And he didn't say anything about knowing what lies in the future so that's good.
Oh dear, one more year to go before season 8? And only six more episodes? Hopefully what HBO's saying about each episode being feature-length will come true.
Three things that I'm really looking forward to next season ( among many others ):
1. Jon/Dany ( but of course ).
2. Jon riding a dragon.
3. Jon and Arya's ( and Needle ) reunion!
A solid 10 from me.
