Any fans of the 80s TV show Dynasty here? I was more of a Dallas girl myself but I did more or less follow Dynasty though not to the same avidness as I did Dallas ( speaking of which, I wish they hadn't cancelled the show ). My favourite character was Fallon, mainly because Pamela Sue Martin was Nancy Drew. Hardy Boys! Parker Stevenson! Shaun

Well, I watched it. Had no idea there was a new one though. But with all remakes being done I'm not surprised.

It's hard to imagine anyone else being inside John Forsythe, Linda Evans and Joan Collin's shoes. Especially Joan Collins!

I didn't watch Dynasty, though I occasionally read bits and pieces about it.

From the previews I've seen, and the extremely negative review I read, this is a tone-deaf remake that does not seem to have the elements a lot of people originally found fun about it. (For one thing, Alexis either hasn't been cast yet, or they're still not revealing who's playing her.) The timing is just awful; this is not the best time in this country, to be airing a show about the lives of the ultra-wealthy and their in-fighting, jealousies, cheating, inheritance scheming, etc.. Also, the characters (or perhaps the actors), don't seem to be impressing the reviewers and commenters.

You may still want to watch it and see what you think for yourself. (I was also more of a Dallas fan, for at least part of it's run, and enjoyed Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys.)

I've watched the first 10 minutes of the new Dynasty and ... it's bad. Tone-deaf it definitely IS.

I wouldn't mind watching a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys again, the original I mean. Lol, I'm probably too old to watch a reboot of them. The reason I like the new Dallas is because it's basically the old Dallas!

They're actually doing a re-make of Nancy Drew, but I forget which network it is. A couple of years ago, CBS was going to do a re-make, but didn't want something that would skew heavily female. I forget how they worded it, but it was pretty insulting. This remake does not look like a lot of fun. Supposedly Nancy is an author who turned her real-life adventures into fiction, and her two best friends were not happy with their portrayal.

I agree, I'd rather see re-runs of the old shows, than reboots.

I heard they're going to make a series with young Miss Marple with Jennifer Garner in the starring role. I wonder what happen to that.
