Yes, it really annoys me when people do that. I end up telling them that I'll deliver the message "when I get around to it". It's a favor I'm doing for them. So they can wait and go by my schedule dammit!

I've been in your position with my best friend's girlfriend. It didn't matter what I thought of this girl, and I couldn't stand her to be truthful. So I tried to be nice to her, but the fakeness of the whole situation I found to be really tiring. Even moreso when I would find out that she'd be treating Jackie like shit. And when they break up, what's the point of the whole "friendship" in the end? Waste of time. Ok so maybe it's not the exact same, but I prefer to only be polite to my friend's boyfriends/girlfriends and only on rare occasions will I ever consider them true friends.
