Big animal O.O

I was out walking him at night. My eyes hadn't adjusted to the darkness yet, and Reilly had his nose intently to the ground. Suddenly there is this KRUMPH as something weighing 600 lbs. or more leaped into the air, less than 6 feet away from us. I had visions of some huge predatory thing leaping at us. Reilly just ran to the end of the leash.

That's nothing, try walking right in front of a coyote without even realizing, stopping to catch your breath, looking around, and seeing a coyote staring you like "Well, today must be my lucky day." That realy scares the shit out of you.
