A lot of places seem to be jumping the release date n..n

Maxis screwed up the release date by failing to set a worldwide sales embargo on it. Which means while the release date may not have arrived... there is no legal/corperate punishment for retailers who sell it before. It just depends when your store has it shipped in yet, and if they're clever enough to work out there wasn't a rule set.

UK Release date is earlier than the US one anyway. Plus I got lucky with my delivery arriving a day early.
