No, they never said "I love you" in the book. I think that was on purpose, because they showed each other they loved each other, instead of saying it. Plus, Ennis was so repressed and insistent on not being queer that he never would have said it outloud, even if he felt it.
That's true. I admit that that alone did make it a little more consistent with the movie's characters. I think the closest it got was "I wish I could quit you," which in retrospect, is about as much as I'd expect from two sexually confused cowboys.
lol... nah.. not really. This is TX. You can go most places and find them. You seriously have to hunt for them in the cities though seeing as how theyre not as common as people would like to think.
