It's been a long time coming ... I've been feeling this way for ages - If you look back over my LJ you'll see a number of posts, over time, expressing a general sense of malaise, becoming more and more outspokenly disatisfied with LJ, more and more misanthropic [1]

The most recent catalysts have been debate in general and more specifically this (my response here)

What really clinched it was the realisation that something that petty had actually got to me - When you start giving a shit about what random morons on the Internet think of you, it's time to get some perspective ... and get a fucking LIFE!

My LJ was never meant to be anything other than 1) a way to keep up with my friends' plans for the weekend/whenever and 2) xtrapol8ralThe rest of it just kinda happened ... and I'm not happy about it - It's taken over my life ( ... )

I think what's always best is to keep anything on the internet to a hobby. People will make politics out of anything here. After they start up a "power" list, they'll attempt to alienate everyone outside of themselves. Ultimately, they will become everything they once stood against, until one day another champion with his two cents puts them in their places. Then new groups with their heads shoved farther up their asses is created. By now, whatever they do consumes them. If you can keep anything on the internet a hobby, whether it's gaming "clans", journal communities, forums, and all the crazy IRC and online gaming shit in between, you can enjoy yourself ( ... )

Yeah

The best bit is that I replied to her via LJ with my MSN details twice ... She's just to thick to actually work out that me doing that means she's GOT them and doesn't need to go looking in my bio - What kind of moron puts their contact details in their bio anyway!? D'uh!

She was really pushy about it too ... which is why I finally relented and gave them to her - Against my better judgement

Oh, and there's the bit about me being too stupid to know that she wouldn't be able to reply once I'd screened the comments - No shit, Sherlock! ... I know that ... But, as we were gonna be chatting on MSN, there was no need for her to reply (it's not my fault she's too stupid to read her email/LJ and get my details from the replies I made with my fucking details in them!) ... AND she expressly requested that we not discuss things in a public forum, so, I screened them (out of courtesy and consideration for her wishes) so that no-one would be able to read them, so what's she moaning about!? ... How thick can someone be ( ... )

I didn't know you were that old(I don't mean that in an insulting manner; it changes nothing). She has fucking problems if she's posting about herself talking behind your back...she's lucky she screens comments. I put my AIM name in my bio. Usually they leave a message, then stay perched at their computers until I get back after three hours. It's funny when they immediately respond. Assholes of the Week tend to contact me through it to defend their case, which is the biggest mistake they could make (I tend to be a lot more vicious when I can argue back and forth). I get death threats, report threats, I even got one guy who went on 20 screen names just to warn my away message once on each one. Warning is this percentage thing on AIM that just dictates how fast you can send messages. When you get warned it jumps to a certain percent, then falls every hour you don't get warned. For some reason, warning levels make people freak out with paranoia ( ... )

I think this might sum up how fucking stupid LJ people are...

For some amusement, read my latest entry. Another bunch of conservative geniuses.
