You know it actually does help. God I feel quite pathetic for being so affected by this, but it truly is a masterful angst fest. I was holding my breath during the scene when Jack thought Gwen was Frances (aah so is Gwen descended from Jack and an ex called Frances?) That was so well done.
Eleth is a delightful character, loved her fear of red hair. Gwen is lovely with her as well. I also thought Catherine was great, I loved how tough and confident she was, the way she took over and looked after them.

Then we're as bad as one another - I get like that when I'm totally invested in a story. We love these blokes, how can we help it?

Nah, Jack's just mad!
I'm glad you like Catherine. I did want to make her a bit nicer to reflect our collective sympathy, but I think Ianto and Gwen would have eaten her alive.
Owww - especially the bit where Jack remembered Ianto but forgot that he'd forgiven him. Also, I love that Ianto is, if in a more quiet way, almost as nuts as Jack. He's got that obsessive tunnel vision, and I'm a little afraid that it's going to make him do something scary.
This is heartbreaking. I nearly cried when Jack forgot who Ianto was. I hope Dr. Cullen can make Jack better before it is too late! Great job!!! I can't wait for the next chapter!
god there's another 11 chapters of this to go.....as another fan said, it's impossible NOT to read, even though it's so damn painful. Of course, it's painful because it's so good.
The idea of your partner not knowing you.....
I do recall my husband's dear old grandad come into their house once having, briefly, forgotten about 10 years - he just about recognised my husband but couldn't understand why he wasn't in Birmingham. And the worst part was he KNEW he'd forgotten.
As it's said in Adam - memory, really, is all we have when it comes down to it. Lose that and we lose who we are. And so do the ones we love.
I do hope someone#s actually going to help IANTO at some point - he's heading for a nervous breakdown at this rate.
Ah, that it so sad and...ouch. Ouch ouch. Knowing must be the cruellest part of all. I've lost a couple friends/family to this and it was so much kinder to them when they went that step further and didn't fade in and out. Very painful to be left behind though :o(
