That's *awesome*, Lizzy. How's G feeling today? (Sometimes the soreness takes a day or two to really catch up with you, but I'm sure he knows that.) Encourage him to go get a massage--getting a nice, gentle Swedish after a big race like that (plus drinking lots and lots of water) can really help flush all that waste produced by muscles in anaerobic respiration (the kind that happens when you can't breathe in enough oxygen to release stored energy, so your body reverts to anaerobic respiration, which produces the waste that causes soreness.)
Anyway, I think it's incredible that he ran (and finished) the marathon--what a wonderful accomplishment!
thanks hon. He's doing great! Fortunately he had a massage right after he finished, so I think that helped a lot. He also ran yesterday, and I think that made him feel a lot better. He's so psyched he can take a break.
