I wasn't too happy with a certain pairing...And I felt really sorry for a certain somebody.
I liked it, I really did. It's better the second time around.

oh man. How about "his" face after he saw what happened on the ship??

Man I wanted to cry for him. It was heartbreaking. And then how she wouldn't meet his gaze on the longboat.

ugh.

I really want to see it again. So I will. :)

Yeah, ld, I agree with you. I thought it was very dark and that depressed me a bit. I loved the "fun" they all seemed to have in the first one. It just seemed they went from one disaster to another. And I agree about poor Will...but loved the "hello, beastie" part. ;)

I was so so so upset over that too. I was trying to explain it away as it was just a ploy so she could trap him, but you could tell it meant something to her as well.

I'm trying to say this as ambiguously as possible so as not to spoil things if people haven't seen it.

I'm waiting to see it until I can go with Melly, since I missed her Pirate Party.

Oh, and Lizzy--did you see my post at Foo? I GET TO MEET VIGGO! Yes, I get to speak to (and touch, you can be sure) someone who touched Orly! *le swoon*

I think it was just to trap him, that's what I'm telling myself anyhoo. and besides, they need a little "wrench" to make things interesting - i think. and we KNOW things will turn out - becuase well, there's another movie;)

I actually liked it more than I expected to... Don't worry, second acts are meant to be a bit darker (Empire Strikes Back, X2, Temple of Doom), everything will work out fine for orli in the third one!

Kiera Knightly really bugs me though, what the hell is up with her jaw? Is she sticking her front teeth out all the time as a sexy pout, or is it just in case anyone needs to open a beer bottle?

aaaaaaaaaahahahha----I'm so glad you're here!!!

:)

I miss you.

And yes. I was a little annoyed by her and her jaw too. I liked her much better in the first one.

And I totally agree with your assessment of sequels, Gav. I would add The Two Towers too...lots of stuff left up in the air.

I agree DMC was a little dark - not as lighthearted as the first one that’s for sure. But I still loved it! I've seen it twice now and I think I enjoyed it more the second time. I also had mixed feelings about that ending and I was pretty upset by her decision. Still - I'm sure things will turn out all right in sequel 3. I mean, we know for certain that Jack WILL be back. I read they wanted to develop Will's character more by giving it a slightly 'darker' turn, so that's probably what the setup in this one was for. Anyhow, I just don't see a 'Jack/Elizabeth' pairing working in the end so I’m betting Jack will end up back with his 'true love' the Pearl while Will & Liz may finally have that interrupted wedding after all. Of couree, that's unless Disney really IS serious about making more sequels - in which case who knows? I read that Johnny would be up for more 'Capt. Jack,' but I'm not sure if Keira and Orlando would be interested.?

more sequels??? no way! There is definitely such thing as "too much of a good thing."

I know I need to see it again. I was telling a friend just this morning that I was so caught up in the effects that I missed some of the story.
