Almost robbery news

It appears to me that yesterday morning I barely missed getting stolen from my own apartment. And, being absentminded as I am, I didn't even notice it!

I was having a late breakfast, about 9-30 am, when somebody started fumbling with a lock of a front door. I thought it was my husband, because he lives in a ceparate apartment several doors from ( Read more... )

I like the way you think. You are none the worse for trusting. Maybe your husband and daughter speak from the fear created by imagining what might have been. No one can say what he or she will do until faced with the situation.

I shoulda and I coulda are favorite games we play with our minds. Unfortunately they become the basis for the policy of nations.

Just take a little look at our current election wars. You might as well, I am not watching.

Heh, your last election war was kind of a game indeed. When I read what most of Americans on Internet think of your Mr. President, I get an impression that there was a strict discrimination against Internet-users during elections. At least, proportion of votes seems to be way different among users than among public at large. ;)) (Okay, I hope you don't think that it's only American situation?)

And, just for the record, my dearest husband wouldn't give a shit as to what coulda/shoulda happen to me, so we may forget the "fear" issue. ;)) Not that I'm going to sorrow over that, just for you to know ;))

Yeah, indeed. For 20 years that we live together he never, not a single time, agreed to go out to meet me when I was late from work or what. Even when we lived on dacha, 50 km of Moscow, and every night I had to walk 2 miles through the forest and building area.

His favorite idea is, "Don't you really think that somebody might have wanted to do something to YOU?" And it's not irony, dear Sue, he's never been that good at humor.

Am I really always reasonable? I've never thought I am...

You are the most reasonable one in our crazy family. So much reasonable that, if it was not for you being my 20-year younger copy, I'd suspect something soap-opera-ish.

What d'you mean? There she is! And they call her my mom! Where did you ever saw any mothers who think their kids are not theirs? Anyway, I'm happy to see you calling me less crazy then my brother...

P.S. I'm not sure about my english... If there're any mistakes you can delete this comment, but I'll write in english, just to have some practice.

Wow. This is all very disturbing! Did you talk to your neighbors or the police? Sorry if I have to ask this - but did the man in the suit want to buy your apartment? I just don't get it... Or was that a huge lie, and were they trying to get in to steal stuff? Are you worried that they will come back?

Sorry to hear about your marriage. I kind of wondered why you two have separate apartments. Have you two ever considered a divorce?

I didn't get their actual intentions, either. They mumbled something that they kind of wanted to revise it if these apartments are occupied or not, because the building is rather new and there's a lot of empty apartments. Asked me a couple of idiot questions and left.

But, if they were from the office, there's a lot of questions. Why didn't they simply use the doorbell? And why did they revise it in a daytime, when people is at work? And why was it nesessary to enter apartments to revise if they're occupied? And why did they try to enter my apartment if they actually needed to get to the neighbors' one? (By the way, their door is replaced with the modern metal construction so that it's quite obvious that this apartment is not empty ( ... )
