SUNGMIN'S POV
I woke up the next day with puffy eyes and a tear-stained face. I did manage to eat dinner last night, but when I went to bed, I started crying again until I fell asleep. Another day has come and I still haven't moved on yet. I tried blocking the thoughts about the past, especially those about him, but what can I do, everything just came running back to me last night.
I got up from my bed and decided to take a bath first. The water felt so good and as if it was washing away the the things I wanted to forget. After taking a bath, I felt calm and refreshed again. When I was done with breakfast, I decided to go out and look for a job. I don't want to stay at home the whole day and bore myself to death, or worse, keep on reminiscing. I went here for a reason, right?
While walking, a cafe with a cute and unique design caught my eye. The inside of the place really mesmerized me as it was so colorful and relaxing. The music playing was also calming. I kept walking around and around until I bumped into someone. "Kibum?"
"Sungmin!" He says to me as we hugged each other. Kim Kibum and his family were our next door neighbors a few years ago. He did tell me that they were moving here because of the hotel they owned here, I just forgot. "Why are you here? Where's your family?" Great, another person to make me remember the things I'm trying to get out of my head.
"Oh.. Uhm.. I wanted to be independent.. Plus, managing a mall is really stressful, so I wanted to get away. Hehehe" I tried to be as calm as possible when I answered him back. If Kibum wasn't a family friend, I would've shouted at him for making me remember, then again, he doesn't know the story anyway.
"That's good to know" He flashed me his killer smile. To be honest, I did like Kibum for a month or two, but it was before I dated Siwon. "How did you know I owned this cafe?"
"You're the owner?" I said with a shocked expression and he just nodded at me. "I didn't know and what attracted me was your cafe's design. It's so cute" I said with a giddy expression, earning weird looks from the customers, so I bowed in embarrassment.
"Hahaha. You're still so cute" I was still looking down, but this time, I was also blushing because of his compliment. "Well, my mom wanted it to look cute so it would attract girls then maybe I could find the one I'd marry" He said with a laugh. With a look and personality like Kibum's, he wouldn't have a hard time attracting girls even if this cafe only had a simple design.
"Oh.. I was wondering.." I suddenly remembered I was looking for a job, so I took the opportunity to ask him. "Do you have any job openings? I want to earn my own money" I smiled at him.
"Hmm, well, we still need waiters and waitresses.. Would it be okay with you?" He asked me with worry in his eyes. I know that being a waitress, you're gonna get shouted at if you do something wrong, but I don't mind, as long as I have a job.
"It's okay. I just really want to work" I said to him with excitement written all over my face and he just smiles at me. "Can I start today?"
"Of course. I'll have one of the employees help you" He smiled at me and introduced me to one of the employees.
Well, this is a good start.
KYUHYUN'S POV
I went home last night and went straight to bed. I was too tired of crying, too tired of everything. When I woke up the next day, I didn't want to get up as thoughts of Sungmin continued to flood my mind. Where could she be, anyway? I was in deep thought when my phone suddenly rang. I groaned at the sudden disturbance but answered it anyway. "Hello?"
"Kyuhyun, can we meet today? I have some things to tell you" My father said to me. Some things? What could those be? I agreed and he instructed me to go to the office. I immediately took a bath and ate breakfast then drove off to the place.
When I arrived, I was surprised to see him holding a photo.. my photo with Sungmin. "You're here" He says to me as he pats the space beside him on the couch, ordering me to sit beside him.
"Where did you find that, appa?" Shock was written all over my place. Could it be that he knows about me and Sungmin?
"I know about you two, Kyuhyun.." I was right, but how? "Sungmin told me everything" Finally, everything was now clear to me on how my father was able to say those words to my mother yesterday. I was shocked with what he said that I was left speechless, so he just continued. "I know you're gonna hate your mother for this, but I just want you to be happy"
Silence enveloped us for a few minutes as he was preparing to tell me the things he thinks I need to know already. "Kyuhyun ah, your mother forced Sungmin to break up with you" My jaw dropped and all I could feel was anger.
"WHAT?!" My father was startled with my reaction, but he was expecting it. "How did umma know?" My blood was boiling.
"Let me finish first, son" Even though I was already raging in front of him, my father remained calm. "Sungmin didn't tell me how your mother and the Kims found out, but she did tell me that she still loves you.." My father smiled at me as he said the last phrase. I couldn't help but cry after hearing what he said, but it encouraged me to find Sungmin as soon as possible.
"I love her so much, appa.. I want to find her" I cried more, but my father gave me a questioning look after he heard what I said. "She ran away.." My father now understood everything and didn't question further, he just continued calming me down.
"You will find her soon, son. I will help you" I'm happy that my father is not against my love for Sungmin. I couldn't be more thankful as I hugged him tighter.
"What about umma?" I said as I broke the hug. I felt guilty for making my father frown, but I just wanted to know.
"Just let her be for now. Your happiness is more important" My father said as he smiled at me.
"I miss you too, Minnie! Did-" Eunhyuk entered the office with shock written all over her face and both my father and I turned to look at her. She's talking to Sungmin. She knows where Sungmin is. I got off the couch and grabbed her phone.
"Sungmin! Where are you? I miss you so much" I said as I started crying. Eunhyuk and my father could only feel bad for me.
A/N: I think this still has two to three more chapters to go. ^^ Ah, I'm thinking of going hiatus after this fic, but I might change my mind. :))
