Kyuhyun and Sungmin were about to close the gap between them when the former's phone suddenly rang, making the two groan silently at the loss. Kyuhyun was about to yell at the caller, but stopped when he heard Donghae's voice from the other line. "Okay, but walk faster. I really want to play already."
Meanwhile, Sungmin went to the kitchen to cook dinner. She still couldn't get over what happened a while ago. Did Kyuhyun really want to kiss her? Or he did that because of his guy instincts? Sungmin was still spacing out when Kyuhyun suddenly spoke behind her and startled her. "Hey.. Sorry about that.. You know.. Our almost kiss.."
"I.. Uh.. It's okay." Sungmin replied, nervous.
"Donghae said he's on his way home.." Kyuhyun spoke again.
"I better start cooking then." Sungmin said before grabbing some ingredients from the cabinets and from the fridge.
"Do you need any help?" Kyuhyun asked.
"No, no. I can handle this. Oh, and by the way, thank you for helping me with my homework." Sungmin smiled at him.
"You're welcome. Just call me whenever you need help from the Math genius" Kyuhyun said with a smirk before going back to the living room to wait for Donghae.
"It won't take long before I faint right in front of him because of his smirk.." Sungmin thought to herself while she was chopping the vegetables.
30 minutes later, Donghae finally arrived. "I'm home!"
"Finally!" Kyuhyun stood up from the couch and gave Donghae a man hug.
"Oppa!" Sungmin went out of the kitchen and hugged her brother as well. "Before you play, you have to eat first."
"Well, video games can wait anyway, but my stomach can't" Donghae pulled Kyuhyun and Sungmin to the dining table. While they were eating, Sungmin couldn't stop staring at Kyuhyun's lips. Oh, how she imagined what it would be like to kiss him. If only they were able to do it a while ago.
After they ate, Sungmin started washing the dishes while Kyuhyun and Donghae started playing video games in the living room. When Sungmin was about to go out the kitchen, he heard Kyuhyun say something that broke her heart. "Nah, your sister's not my type anyway, so you don't have to worry about me falling in love with her."
Sungmin couldn't help but cry in the kitchen door. She felt so hurt and so confused. If Kyuhyun didn't like her, then why did he want to kiss her? Sungmin left the kitchen and ran upstairs to her room. Kyuhyun and Donghae were too engrossed in their video games that they didn't notice her.
"I'm so stupid! I'm so stupid!" Sungmin was crying her heart out in her room. She just met Kyuhyun tonight, but she already feels so hurt, knowing that she will never have a chance of being with him. Her heart really did it this time, making her fall deeply for someone she just met.

Sungmin avoided Kyuhyun ever since that night, making the latter confused. He doesn't know what he did to her that she doesn't want him near her. It has been 6 months since then, and today was Donghae's graduation. Kyuhyun was supposed to graduate with him, but because he was so addicted to video games that he kept failing most of his subjects, except Math, of course.
After Donghae's graduation ceremonies, they decided to have lunch to celebrate. While they were eating, Donghae decided to announce something. "Sungmin ah, I'm leaving for the U.S.A. next week to work. The university's gonna send their best students to work there, and since I'm one, they'll be sending me too."
"Oppa, what about me?" Sungmin asked with teary eyes. Donghae never left her side before, and she doesn't know what she would do without him.
"Kyuhyun will live with you. His parents told me that they want him to grow up independent, so he's gonna be the one to take care of you" Donghae replied while hugging her sister. It hurt him leaving his sister behind, but he has to work in order to pay for her studies. He knew she would be safe in his best friend's care.
Sungmin was shocked with what her brother said. She couldn't look at the two guys in front of her. Before she could even argue, Kyuhyun let out his signature smirk again, the one that Sungmin hadn't seen in a while, making her heart beat fast again.
"Don't worry, Sungmin. I will take care of you" Kyuhyun spoke and Sungmin could only smile at him.

The day Donghae was going to leave finally came. Kyuhyun and Sungmin were at the airport with him. "Minnie, take care of yourself, okay? I will call every now and then to check on you two. Kyuhyun, take care of my sister, okay? Pull her out of bed if she doesn't want to wake up." He gave his sister and his best friend one last hug before he went inside the waiting area.
"Let's go home" Kyuhyun wiped away Sungmin's tears and pulled her out of the airport. Their drive home was quiet as Sungmin was still crying. She spent her whole life with her brother, and this is the first time he has ever left her side. Even though Donghae assured her that he will call every day and come home when he has time, she still couldn't stop worrying. Her parents have already left her, she doesn't want to lose her brother as well.
When they arrived home, Sungmin went to the kitchen to cook lunch, while Kyuhyun brought his things to the guest room to set up. After a while, Sungmin was finally done cooking and decided to call Kyuhyun to eat. When Kyuhyun finally went downstairs, they began eating and he decided to break the silence.
"Sungmin, don't worry about Donghae. He said he'll come back when he has time, okay?" Kyuhyun said while squeezing Sungmin's hand. The latter pulled her hand away and continued eating. Kyuhyun still hasn't figured out why Sungmin was so angry at him.
"Stop flirting with me.." Sungmin thought to herself.

A few days passed and the house was still as quiet as ever. Sungmin kept fighting back her feelings for Kyuhyun, while the latter decided to do something to cheer the former up. When Sungmin got home that day, she was surprised to see a huge teddy bear seating on the couch. As she was approaching it, she was startled when it spoke.
"Hello, Sungmin. I'm Teddy, will you take care of me?" Sungmin thought she was going crazy but calmed down when she saw Kyuhyun come out from behind the couch. "While I take care of you" Kyuhyun spoke. Sungmin felt butterflies in her stomach and smiled at Kyuhyun's sweetness, and she finally decided to just let herself fall for him again, even if she knows he will never like her back.

Weeks have passed and the awkwardness inside the house was finally gone. Whenever Sungmin would cook, Kyuhyun would always be there to help her.
"Should I chop it like this? Or like this?"
"It's up to you"
"But I want your opinion"
"Fine. Chop it like a heart shape. Hihihi"

Sungmin kept falling for him more and more. Whenever both of them were bored, they would either play video games or watch TV together.
