Lee Sungmin was only a freshman when she first fell in love. She had fallen for one of the new students, his name was Cho Kyuhyun. He became popular among guys, girls and teachers because of his looks and his personality. Since Sungmin was in a different class, she decided to find out more about him from her best friend, Eunhyuk, who was in the same class as Kyuhyun's.
Lee Hyukjae or more known as Eunhyuk, decided to help out her best friend. While the teacher wasn't around, she took the opportunity to talk to Kyuhyun, since she just sat beside the guy. "Kyu, can you give me a little information about you? You know, so I could get to know you more" Eunhyuk said as she gave him a pen and a piece of paper.
Kyuhyun smirked at first, thinking that maybe Eunhyuk liked him, and just nodded. He wrote down his name, his telephone number and cellphone number, as well as his likes and dislikes. When he was done, he gave back the pen and paper to her and she thanked him and smiled at him. "You better thank me for this, Minnie.." Eunhyuk thought to herself.
It was dismissal time when Sungmin and Eunhyuk met up outside of the school and the latter handed the paper to the former. "Thank you so much, Hyukkie!" Sungmin said as she gave Eunhyuk a tight hug.
"I.. Can't.. Breathe.." Eunhyuk said as she tried to break the tight hug.
"Oh, sorry" Sungmin said as she pulled away and giggled at her friend who was trying to catch her breath. "Should I make a move now?" She added while looking at the paper with a very bright expression and red cheeks.
"What?! He's the guy, Min. Just wait for him" Eunhyuk replied.
"What if he doesn't notice me? I have to do something too, you know" Sungmin said, thinking of what to say to him if she decides to talk to Kyuhyun.

Months passed by, but Sungmin never made a move to catch Kyuhyun's attention. She was just too shy to say hi to him whenever they passed by each other. As for Kyuhyun, he would only look at Sungmin with a weird facial expression, but most of the time, he would just ignore her. Who was she anyway?
December came and the school had a talent show in the school's gym. Sungmin's class and Kyuhyun's class sat beside each other. Sungmin tried looking for Eunhyuk, but then she remembered that the latter was a performer. While the show was going on, Sungmin noticed the person beside her. It was Donghae, one of her guy friends and the one who liked her best friend, Eunhyuk. "Hi Hae" She said as she tapped his shoulder.
Donghae smiled back and wiggled his eyebrows, telling Sungmin that Kyuhyun was just beside him. He found out that Sungmin liked his best friend when she accidentally blurted out that she liked Kyuhyun while they were talking on the phone.
Donghae, being the good friend that he was, decided to introduce Kyuhyun and Sungmin to each other, since Kyuhyun still didn't know who Sungmin was. "Kyu, I'd like you to meet a good friend of mine, Sungmin. Sungmin, this is Kyuhyun" The two smiled at each other, Sungmin waved while Kyuhyun just wiggled his eyebrows.
Sungmin felt her cheeks become red, so she looked down and smiled. "OMG, he just smiled at me.." She thought to herself.

January came and Sungmin started sending text messages to Kyuhyun. The latter would reply to her at times, but most of the time, he didn't. Even though Kyuhyun was like that to her, she still continued sending text messages to him.
During recess and lunch, Kyuhyun would always tease her whenever he saw her, but Sungmin just smiled at him, even though his teasing was becoming too much most of the time.
-----
February came and it was the time Sungmin decided to have her first phone conversation with Kyuhyun. The first time they talked to each other on the phone, the call lasted for almost 2 hours. There were times that Kyuhyun was the first one to call her, and whenever that happened, Sungmin felt like the happiest girl in the world.
-----
On the last day of school, Donghae promised that he would help Sungmin in taking a picture with Kyuhyun. "Kyu, Min wants to take a picture with you. Is that okay?" Donghae asked while they were emptying their lockers.
"Sure. I'll have my driver wait for me" Kyuhyun replied.
It was already dismissal time and Sungmin's class was the last one to come out. "I hope I'll still be able to take a picture with him.. Gosh, why did Mrs. Park dismissed us so late" She thought to herself as she got out of the school gate.
While Sungmin was looking for Donghae and Kyuhyun, someone tapped her from behind, and when she looked back, she was surprised to see Kyuhyun smiling at her. "So, let's take a picture" He said and Sungmin felt like fainting at that moment.
Donghae took the photo while Kyuhyun and Sungmin stood beside each other, uniforms and arms sticking to each other. When the photo was taken, Sungmin bid goodbye to them as she started walking on her way home. She looked at the photo and she felt like jumping for joy as she noticed how close they were to each other in the photo.

Summer vacation came and Sungmin was spending it in her province. She was too busy taking care of her grandmother's grocery store that she didn't have any time to talk to Kyuhyun, though she wondered how the latter was doing.
One day, while she was watching a movie with her cousin, she received an anonymous text and wondered who it came from. The text message contained teasing and cursing words and it drove Sungmin insane that she also sent cursing words to the sender. The anonymous sender didn't stop there and continued sending her messages. When she felt that she had had enough, she stop replying and ignored the sendr.
When she went home and prepared for the first day of her sophomore year, which was only 2 weeks away. Kyuhyun played a prank on her and told her that he was going to court her. Sungmin, being madly in love with him, believed in him. When she found out that it was only a joke, she cried and ignored Kyuhyun.
-----
1 week before the first day of her sophomore year, Kyuhyun called Sungmin to apologize. When the phone call was about to end, "I love you" Kyuhyun said and Sungmin felt her heart stop beating. When Sungmin wasn't responding, "Don't I get an answer?" Kyuhyun asked.
Sungmin hesitated at first, but her heart said it for her. "I love you too.."
-----
A day before their first day as sophomores. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Kyuhyun asked while they were sending text messages to each other.
"You're playing a prank on me again.." Sungmin replied.
"No, I'm not. I love you, Sungmin. I really do.." Kyuhyun sent back.
Sungmin still wasn't convinced, but she allowed herself to become his girlfriend.
-----
Days passed, and even though Kyuhyun would always take her home, she still wasn't convinced if he really did love her. She would ask him everyday about the truth, and she would always get the same answer. "I really love you, Sungmin.."
-----
It took Sungmin 2 months to believe that Kyuhyun was really serious about her. Donghae and Eunhyuk were surprised when they found out that the two were dating, since Kyuhyun and Sungmin decided to keep their relationship a secret.
But because Kyuhyun couldn't control himself from showing how much he loved Sungmin, the rest of the school found out about their relationship when they were on their 3rd month as a couple.
"I never thought we'd surpass the relationships I've had before.." Kyuhyun said while they were fixing their things in their shared locker. He's had 5 girlfriends before, but every relationship only lasted for a month or two.
"Let's make it last forever.." Sungmin replied as she gave Kyuhyun a kiss on the cheek.
-----
Their relationship during their sophomore year was full of ups and downs. Kyuhyun would often be jealous about Sungmin being surrounded by guys and the latter was like that too, whenever he was surrounded by girls.
One thing Sungmin didn't like about Kyuhyun was that he was a flirt and liked being with other girls, even though he had her. "I'm gonna do whatever it takes to keep you.." She thought to herself.
-----
Their junior year came and their relationship was starting to become cold. They were about to celebrate their anniversary of 1 year and 5 months when Kyuhyun decided to break up with her on the same day. "I'm sorry, Min. It just isn't working anymore. I've fallen for Kim Heechul.."
When Sungmin got home that day, she cried really hard and made a mess in her room by throwing all of her things around the place, especially their pictures and the gifts Kyuhyun gave her. While she was going around her room, she caught sight of a cutter and grabbed it. She didn't want to do it at first, but something in her told her to.
Sungmin cut herself 5 times and each cut was very deep. It was supposed to hurt, obviously, but for her, it felt good.
-----
Days passed by and Sungmin would call Kyuhyun everyday, asking him to take her back, but she would always get the same answer. "I'm sorry, Sungmin. I can't. I still love you, but I'm already courting Heechul"
"You said it yourself! You still love me, but why wouldn't you come back to me?" Sungmin would yell as tears started to fall from her eyes.
"I just don't feel like it anymore, and I'm already doing my best to forget you.. If I still can't, then I'll try to come back to you.." Kyuhyun would reply and she would end up slamming the phone and crying herself to sleep.
-----
Sungmin didn't know who to run to anymore. Donghae had already transferred to another school while her friendship with Eunhyuk came to an end when the girl noticed that Sungmin was too busy with Kyuhyun to spend time with her.
While she was doing her homework, her classmate, Sunny, started blabbering about rumors of new couples. What caught her attention was when she heard her say that Kyuhyun was now courting Kim Ryeowook.
When she got home that day, she decided to call Kyuhyun again. "You're courting Ryeowook now?!" Sungmin yelled as soon as Kyuhyun picked up the phone. "So that's it, you're just going to throw away our relationship of more than a year?"
"No. It didn't work out with Heechul, so I decided to move to Ryeowook.." Kyuhyun replied with a calm voice, even though Sungmin yelled at him.
"How about me?!" Sungmin was crying already, even though anger was evident in her voice. How could Kyuhyun do this to her? She knew he loved her so much, but why was he acting like that?
"I don't love you anymore.. Bye" Kyuhyun ended the call and Sungmin was left crying again.
-----
Sungmin was now on her last year in high school, but she still hasn't gotten over Kyuhyun. There were days that she would look at their pictures together and read the letters he wrote to her, and she would end up reminiscing everything and crying all over again.
Kyuhyun was already dating Ryeowook, but he still kept flirting with Sungmin, even though he knows that she still loves him. As for Sungmin, she would just let Kyuhyun be, because this was the only chance she would get of being close to him, since she knows that they will never get back together.
-----
When Sungmin was already in college, she started forgetting Kyuhyun, even though she heard from a high school classmate that he was no longer with Ryeowook and was already dating someone new.
She cut off all of her communications with her high school batchmates and moved on with her life. Everything went well with her days as a college student, but whenever a boy wanted to court her, she would reject him, wanting to focus on her studies.
-----
Sungmin had finally graduated from college and was now working as a hotel employee. She was now dating Zhou Mi, one of her colleagues. Zhou Mi was so much better than Kyuhyun. He was loving, caring, honest and loyal.
While they were waiting for the elevator to stop on the ground floor, Zhou Mi held Sungmin's hand and intertwined it with his, making the latter smile at him. When the elevator came to a stop on the ground floor, they were greeted by a couple that was making out. When the couple pulled away and looked at them, Sungmin was surprised to see.. "Kyuhyun?" She thought to herself.
The first thing Kyuhyun looked at was Sungmin, followed by her hand which was intertwined with the hand of the guy beside her. As much as Kyuhyun tried to hide it, he was jealous of the guy, which made him loosen his hold on his girlfriend, Seohyun.
Kyuhyun never stopped loving Sungmin. All those times he dated the other girls, he just wanted to see how far Sungmin would go to get him back. While he was doing that, he didn't notice that he kept yearning for Sungmin more and more, even though she was already starting to distance herself from him.
It had been years since they last saw each other, but Kyuhyun was still in love with her, while Sungmin had already moved on.
"I wish I was him.."
"I'm glad I'm no longer yours.."
