I AM THINKING ALOUD: I LOVE RIVAL!SILVER

I am considering making this a wallpaper. not that i will ever use it because my dad gets angry when I change the wallpaper.

NO REALLY, THIS KID IS AMAZING.
I love this kid. I thought Green was the amazing jerkass rival in RGBY, but, oh man, Silver takes it to a whole new level (i have never played Gen II this is new to me) At least you have the satisfaction of beating Green down every time he accosts you, but dang, Silver. This kid! I love him.

So, i reached Ecruteak a couple days back. Did some exploring, entered the burnt tower, and spotted this kid at the corner of my screen.
So, I figured I wasn't ready to fight him yet. I prefer being at least five levels higher than my opponents, it's a habit I picked up when I was little and I'm picky about that, really, so I decided to be clever about it and sneak on to Olivine and gain some levels. Hey, it won't punish me, and the game will stop me before I go too far, right? Right. So player character, whom I shall call Ethan because that is his name, leaves for Olivine.
I reach Olivine, head for the pokemon center, AND THIS KID WALKS RIGHT OUT THE DOORS TO GREET ME.
I was pretty much "BU-WUH??? I LEFT YOU AT ECRUTEAK HOW DID YOU GET HERE BEFORE ME"
I FREAK. Sure, my team is a little leveled up, but I AM NOT PREPARED, I JUST FOUGHT LOTS OF TRAINERS AND WILD POKEMON. I AM NOT READY FOR THIS WHAT DO I DO, DO I HAVE TO FIGHT OH GOD HE'S TALKING T--
And he shoves Ethan aside, says he's not worth his time, tells him the gym leader's busy and leaves.
...I am not used to this. I am used to a rival like Green insisting on fighting you whenever he feels like it. I am giddy with relief.
Ok fine, that's good. Next time I will be prepared.

haha, nah its fine. I'm the jerk who left Lance hanging in the black market shop for about an hour as I trained my Red Gyarados to level 40 on route 48. Durr IAMAJERK When he asked the equivalent of "what the hell took you so long?" those words stung, man.
So Prof Elm calls me blahblah
and I head for the Goldenrod Radio Tower because Team Rocket is messing with my radio D:<
I acquire a Team Rocket uniform and have the time of my life. I mean, that's awesome!
Me: YEAH I have never gotten the opportunity to dress up as team rocket let's infiltrate their tower and see what shenanigans they are up to--
*BOOM, HERE'S SILVER*
Me: WHY ARE YOU HERE WHAT ARE YOU DOING I WORKED SO HARD TO GET THAT UNIF--WHAT ARE YOU DOING GET YOUR HANDS OFF ETH-- d'awww i'm exposed D:
Then he just LEAVES. I mean, he exposes you for a notteamrocket! and then he just leaves D: I am unhappy. No, actually, I am rolling around, this is hilarious, I love this. I can't read this kid, he's such a jerk I love it.
Some time later, i'm in the underground tunnels, ready to infiltrate the basement. Yeah, you know it.
*BAM HERE'S SILVER!*
Me: OH SO YOU WERE TAILING ME WEREN'T YOU? AT THIS POINT I AM CONSIDERING YOU HAVE A HUGE BOYCRUSH ON ETHAN AND ARE ONLY MAKING EXCUSES TO RUN INTO HIM SO YOU CA-- oh you want to battle ok then.
...
Me: WAIT I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DEALING WITH TEAM ROCKET, DID YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS NOW?
so we duke it out

and he leaves. again. HELLO, YOU ARE IN THE TEAM ROCKET BASE AND THEY ARE COMMITTING EVIL DEEDS WHY DON'T YOU CARE.
but i won't judge him. It's fine. It's NOT LIKE HE'S RELATED TO ANY OF THEM OR SOMETHING WEIRD LIKE THAT *ba-dum shaaaaa*
So, basically, my experiences when playing Soul Silver basically revolve around me being ridiculously excited whenever there is an inkling of Silver showing up because I love this kid and the jerk he can be. :D
NEVER CHANGE, SILVER. NEVER CHANGE. YOU ARE RAPIDLY BECOMING MY FAVOURITE RIVAL. I WILL NEED TO RECONSIDER SOME THINGS AFTER I MEET GREEN IN KANTO, BUT YOU ARE DEFINITELY BECOMING MY FAVOURITE.
