Friday will be interesting.

Jul 30, 2009 07:46

A six-fight, $30 million deal
An immediate title shot against Brock Lesnar
M-1 Global would receive a cut of PPV revenue on top of Emelianenko’s contracted purse
Fedor would be able to wear as much M1 gear as he wanted
Fedor would be allowed to fight in combat sambo

They said no to it.
Discussions end Friday.

So, this is my take on Fedor, or more accurately, why I think he's over hyped at this point ( ... )

No go without M-1 as co-promoter.

This may or may not be good.
It may be good in that they now know where the sticking point truly is. They can work to get him out of M-1's clutchs.

It may be bad in that it may show Fedor believes more in M-1 than he does in proving himself in the UFC.

I think they ended up offering him a 3 fight contract which would come out to about $30 million when you consider that he would have been getting a share of the PPV earnings. Sambo and everything else was allowed. The UFC will not co-promote with M-1. I think they want to see M-1 as a farm league.
