You know what? People worry soooo damn much about labels and who is labeled what. Well fuck that. People are what they are... I decided last night when someone told me "You're 15, you act like you're 27 and married" that I worry too much. Labels mattered to me too much (quite different than anything else going on, though). Preach it, bro. Labels suck. And you're totally right about ripping style. Everyone chooses their influences. It's impossible NOT to be influenced by something, y'know? But then some people are too narrow minded (which is a style they get from other people) to see that. Just do your thing, mike. I know I can appreciate it.

what things should matter if they aren't trivial ones?

How can you have fun if you aren't accepted by anyone? Even if you go by what you like it's probably still going to be based on how it would benefit you...people won't wear something that would make all people not like them...everyone still thinks of the consequences of what they say and what they wear acceptance wise. it's in our nature to crave acceptance and to try to justify ourselves with being more accepted than someone else.......what's wrong with worrying what other people think about you?
