There is one important thing I'd like to point out. The celibacy rule applys equally to heterosexual pastors who are not married. It is used, however, to persecute gay clergy members on an all too frequent basis, as no matter what kind of commitment they make, it's not recognized by the church. Since there is no way to "legitmize" a gay relationship, committed partners in a monogamous relationship still do not enjoy the same respect as their straight counterparts ( ... )
