Title: The Right Thing to Do Character: Sam Gamgee Words: 703 Rating: G A/N: Inspired by Shirebound's beautiful story Giving Thanks. You advised me to write this on the plane home, and I did. :-)
A great title and perfect little companion piece to SB's story. I love the halo and a few grains on his brown curls to speed his healing.
It fit his hand perfectly, and as he ran his thumb lightly across the lid and the silver 'G' rune inscribed on it, the wood seemed to warm at the touch: alive as anything the Elves touched was alive, imbued with their reverence and joy in their craft.
Perfectly fitting companion to shirebound's piece. The addition of Galadriel's presence was brilliant and the thought of the soil going where it knew it was needed, in all directions, is enough to bring a smile to my face. I can just imagine what Samwise's delighted reaction to the outcome will be come spring!
Thank you very much for the lovely comment! I'm so glad you think it's a fitting companion to Janet's beautiful story. I've always loved to imagine the expression on Sam's face as he went from place to place and saw how fast his trees were growing!!
This is a lovely companion piece to Janet's Giving Thanks
As Sam tucked the little grey wood box against his breast once more, he felt no sense of loss, for to him the box was still full: with his hopes, dreams and aspirations, and most of all with his abiding love for his dear land.
