I've just spent a long time clicking through all the beauty. That wisteria is exuberant! So much glory...you must have gone at peak time.
May Apples will always remind me of my friend Jean's back 40 woods. It was a natural area of epic proportions and the May Apples covered vast areas of the property. And the Trillium! And swamp marigolds! (and critters like snakes...)
When we lived in the 'burbs I had a small Mayapple plantation under a cherry tree, along with bloodroot, dutchman's britches and lesser celandine. And a pink slipper orchid in the wild zone at the very back. All rescued just ahead of construction here and there. They made me very happy; I don't know if they survived the change of ownership.
