While Danny and Chin Ho rode west to the suspect's primary residence in Nanakuli, Steve and Kono rode north to Kawela Bay, where his second house was located. With the risk of flight great, they'd decided to split up. It meant covering more ground in less time

"Why don't you push the seat back, it might help," she smirks at her boss quickly, returning her eyes to the road.

"Nah, it's not that," he's quick to respond. Sure it's not.

"What is it then?" She smirks, making a turn.

He glances sidelong at her. "I prefer to drive."

Kono hears the suspect, running to the door where she's positioned.

The door opens and she aims her gun. "Freeze! 5-0!"

The suspect didn't so much as blink. He barreled through the door and immediately dove for her legs, hoping to knock her over as he escaped.

Kono quickly holsters her gun, then kicks high and fast to his head.

The glancing blow slowed him down but forward momentum still continued him toward her.
