15% of the population of Baghdad has died due to America's invasion and the ensuing chaos. That means, statistically, there is not a single person in that city who does not personally know someone who has been killed. If you live in Baghdad you have at least one less friend, parent, sibling, child or lover than you used to. Please keep that in mind

i think people tend to forget the meaning of independence day. it is not "patriot day" or "everybody go buy a huge american flag and a shitload of class c explosives" day.. it is to celebrate our independence from a foreign government in which we were not represented. it is to celebrate the switch from british autocracy to a independent democratic republic, governing ourselves. i was thinking about it a few nights back, and i'm not sure if it's even worth celebrating anymore.
