Yep, things have come a long way since we were kids! I don't expect it to be any more settled than abortion after Roe v. Wade, though.

Yay!

I was just thinking about one of our friends from the Musical Theatre group who we've known now for about 15 years.
It's only in the last couple of years that he has come out, and now he has a lovely partner and they are having a Star Wars themed wedding in the next year or so.

The climate has changed for the better so much while we've known him.

I am overjoyed. There's a great graphic I forgot to get the link to, which shows the state of the law from 1995 to the present, and it's just as weird as I recall events being -- a sudden huge leap in constitutional bans on same-sex marriage, and then a huger leap in legal same-sex marriage, and then the whole thing, every state, turns one joyous pink. (I think green would have been joyous too, but whatever.)
