I'm really enjoying the start of the story. It is nice to see someone try and do something new with a much loved, but slightly cliché theme. I do have an inkling of how the story is going to unfold, but again one reads these kind of story for a specific reason. I find that romance stories shouldn't pretend to be something else, and that an author should work with the general story tropes and not make too many "new" ones or try and make old ones too "different", but they should definitely try and make those tropes their own. And if an author really makes them their own, they will automatically read "newer". Writing a good romance isn't an easy feat, because you have to include some of the tropes that the reader wants to see without them feeling that they have read it already a million times. But I think you have started of an a really good note and I can't wait to read more. If the story continues on the same high note, this would even be a story that I would buy :).
Thank you for this comment. I appreciate it a lot. You're right. There is a fine line when writing romance: you have to stay on the same track, but the scenery needs to be sufficiently different to make the story fresh. I am definitely trying to make the view interesting, but comfortable. Thank you, and I really hope this little story keeps being entertaining!
After trying again and again to find promising m/m were stories, and being let down very often, yours gives me so much hope <3 I really like it so far :3
Thank you! I hope this one doesn't let you down. I am often disappointed, in the m/m were genre, as well. Let's hope I can keep both of us happy. :) So far, this story is keeping me highly amused as I write it.
