FOX has an abominable track record with SF shows. I don't know how The X-Files managed to survive there for nine years.

Fox has been trying to recreate "The X-Files" ldfarris May 12 2008, 21:35:54 UTC
for over 10 years. Considering "The X-Files" was an essential part in making its transition from "that other network" to a full fledge network, I can understand that. Its one of the most culturally releveant shows they had. I think they forget that the X-Files took a while to become what it was.

On the flip side had it not been for Fox, these shows wouldn't exist at all.

I'm sorry to see "New Amsterdam" go. It wasn't earth-shattering, it was just entertaining. Which is OK - I've developed a suspicion of shows that are marketed as earth-shattering, since most turn out to be pretentious and dumb. Entertaining all by itself is plenty for me.
