Silver dragon (new!):
Katt also has this useful tip:
I do have one suggestion. Adding a piece of the fine gauge wire, doubled over & bent so it will fit in the feet & up the leg into the upper stuffed portion, really helps to reinforce the legs/feet so the dragons will stand up better when posed on something like a branch or a log.

Her tips on sewing this kind of pattern with silk:
It's dupioni silk gold shot purple, so it changes colors. Mine is actually glued to a very thick denim for more body.
For a floppier more rounded silk dragon, two pieces of silk glued together and then cut into the pattern pieces should work fine and prevent fraying but it will not have enough body for the wings. If the silk is glued to a base material, use a lighter fabric then denim for the center and treat it like sewing leather (you'll need to prepoke all the sewing holes or get carpel tunnel.)
