I really identify with the thoughts your having over this. I've been through this with friends that I've lost touch with who ended up crashing and burning and at times taking their own lives - the most recent only a short time after I got onto facebook. I'm glad you don't feel you hold any blame (or that anyone does) but do agree with you with the trying to not put off reaching out to others.

*Hugs back.* Thanks, JoEllyn, that's pretty much where I'm at. As Lem advises elsethread, I'm trying to focus on the good moments.

I am very sorry for the loss of your friend. It can be hard not to second guess our selves in a situation like that. I like your but though. Because we never know. It's why I enjoy my time with my Mom to the hilt, and why I try and call her three or four times a week. Keeping in touch is important. I have no doubt there are other people I should be keeping better touch with, but I can't think of any right now.

Thanks, Heather. I'm prone to second-guessing myself in many situations -- but ultimately, I realize that all I can do is offer as much of myself as I have the ability/resources/spoons to do. And realize that people's decisions are, ultimately, their own.

Thanks, Lem. I realize all this -- it's just a matter of internalizing it.

I am concentrating on focusing on the good moments, and remembering her that way.
