Some folks may think that, because I'm a Christian, I would agree with and celebrate the recent Supreme Court ruling affirming a town board's practice of opening meetings with prayers, generally from Christian clergy. (See Read more... )
There's definitely added strength and focus that come from being in the cultural minority.
In a way, I worry about something analogous happening with sf, as it becomes increasingly mainstream. It used to be all of us united against the world; now it's some of us united against others of us. There're far too many would-be gatekeepers & not nearly enough fellowship [ring optional, but not for you ;)].
