I got nailed by CE last week for having grass that was too high. It was maybe 10" tall in a few places.. mostly 5-6" tall everywhere else. Wasn't very pleased. Thinking more and more about tilling it all under and planting clover or something else maintenance free.
btw -- i didn't defriend you on fb.. just deactivated the account for a while.
Mine isn't too long yet; I think I'll have it all out before it gets high. Wish I had a tiller . No worries on FB, sweetie, I know you've been having some drama over there. Sail above, and when the world generalizes, be proof that they're wrong. Goes a lot further than words ever can.
Have you seen prices of the little walk behind tillers lately? I was surprised at what Sears & Home Depot were asking for tiny lightweight machines.. $599 for a rear tine. assumed walk behinds would be cheaper. I'd like to have one for the flower beds & other small areas.
I used to double dig (by hand) the garden areas when I was younger.
We rented a walk behind last time we redid the yard and it wasn't really up to the task of ripping out grass. Turning a bed is easy enough with a shovel, but ripping out grass is a PIA. I almost couldn't move my hands this morning.
Awesome! AS I said, let me know if you can use another pair of hands... I LOVE diggin' in the dirt!
Also, you never responded to my question about your FB post about blueberries, I think? What was it that you have in mind when it comes to blueberry pollination?
Oh, well what I said was I just BOUGHT another of a different variety, so my problem is solved, but now I have an extra blueberry that someone should take off my hands.
