So dude whose baby I want to have is really just not that into me... which is fine and expected since he's just generally superior, but he's also lacking in basic courtesy and niceness, which is really disappointing.

=/ Rude people are fail. Perhaps he's just in process of sending a thank you email? I know right now I'm busy beyond belief and my responses to some stuff takes a bit. But then things that my "career" "depends on" are probably a bit higher priority on the stack.

thats happend to me - bought a gift for some one - sent it to them - never heard a thing about it - worried it never got delivered - asked if they received it - to which the reply was yeah - thanks - and your right - its not the same.
