This message board has a bit more info on the topic. While some the posts are your obligatory asshats, it seems that the kid being tazed was non-compliant with the campus police and known to be a troublemaker. Not that it is an excuse for excessive tazing, but I think there is more to the story than what is in the video.
oh i've read the backstory about it. i know that he was there, didn't have his ID, and refused to show it when the officers announced they needed to check it.
yes, he was being non-compliant in showing his student ID. however, he was leaving when the officers physically grabbed him to stop him.
i wasn't using the video to illustrate my view of the incident, as much to reference the physical degree of pain that was present, as well as the overwhelming response from the students present about the situation. people in that message board were talking about how the "drive-stun technique" isn't as physically debilitating as the regular stun gun technique. just because he's "known to be a troublemaker" doesn't mean that three full grown male adult cops wouldn't be able to physically restrain and subdue a single college-age male without the use of the stun gun
