I was helping Haley (my youngest sister) find some appropriate length skirts in Target yesterday and I had a petite mal seizure. They aren't the full blown trashing unconscious ones, thank goodness, but just as frightening. I kept flashing in and out of conciousness and tensing up while I walked. She said every now and then my neck would twitch and ( Read more... )

allie, you need to tell someone. i'm worried for you. i would rather someone that loves and cares for you drive you around TOWN than to your FUNERAL. you know that andrew and your fam wouldn't mind driving you around if it means your safe. this is scary though. i am learning how my mom and dad must feel about me now that i have a kid of my own. if she had a problem like this i would move heaven and earth to help her and drive her around the world if it meant keeping her safe. i would do anything for her and your parents would do anything for you. and i'm sure your dad knows how you feel after what he is going through, and you two are close, he can understand your fears...and...not to be preachy but don't forget about the one that loves you more than anyone on this earth ever could, He is here to comfort you and help you.
OH! and thank you you super sweet thing for my wake-up birthday text message!! i never get texts! i love it! and i love you!

Thanks Shues <3 I talked with my dad about it, and we thought that it could either be a baaad hypoglycemic (really low blood sugar) reaction or a small seizure. Since we don't know yet, I'm just working on eating better and making sure to get enough sleep to help prevent either. If it happens again, I'm definitely going to seek some help! Andrew practically tied me up and dragged me to the health center right there when I told him! It's nice to know so many people have my back when stuff like this happens! Thank you, you're AWESOME.

And I'm glad (and SUPER sorry about waking you!) that the text got to you! I hope your birthday was amazing! This was your first one as a mom, right? How awesome!

Oh woa, that must be so scary to deal with. Is that the first time it's ever happened to you?

This was the first time it happened, but I have a history of seizures on both sides of my family, so I'm not surprised D: I just hope it doesn't happen again!

I hope I don't have it either x: I talked to my dad about it the other day and he was pretty worried, but said that it also could have been a bad hypoglycemic reaction. Needless to say I'm eating good sugars like crazy now to keep my blood sugar normal!

Please do seek medical help. If you have a related condition, you need treatment ASAP. It's considerate that you don't want to inconvenience people, but if you have epilepsy and it goes untreated, you're endangering your life and the lives of others, you know? Be careful and stay safe.

I really appreciate your nice words and concern c: I talked with my dad about it (in addition to being an epileptic, he's also a physician! handy!) and he was worried, but thought it could also be some other easily preventable things (low blood sugar mainly). So I'm eating way healthier to keep my blood sugar up, and if it happens again I will be going to a neurologist. I really REALLY appreciated your comment though <3 Thanks c:
